"Warms the cockles of my Heart"
The Douro at it's best... The colorful terraces all year round, from its shades of green to fall season to shades of yellow, browns, and reddish colors. Every excuse is an excellent one to visit the Douro Valley and Portugal, and even more its people and its generosity.
But mentioning the Douro we can't forget its Heritage and its precious nectars. The so-called nectar of the Goods, transporting us through flavors, aromas, complexity, depth, terroir, and above all, a ride of emotions and experiences. As once a visitor thought me within early years working as a Certified Guide, "it warms the cockles of our hearts"(1).
It's this same warmth that we would love you to experience, a uniqueness of scenery embracing the best wine and food experience, plated with love, from all the hearted people, proud of their roots.
We Will soon be able to travel again, and our hearts will be wide and opened to greet you in Portugal.

(1) One of the meanings of "cockle" is the chamber of a kiln: in reference to the heart, it refers to the chambers, of which there are four (two atria and two ventricles). The heart has always been associated with emotions, excitement, and fear, probably because when we feel strong emotions we feel our heart thumping and beating faster. So when somethings "warms the cockles of our heart", it is a reference to something pleasant that makes our heart beat faster and makes us feel good. Probably this would be also the origin of the saying that something gives us that "warm and fuzzy feeling"
